We offer swimmers and non-swimmers a range of opportunities to develop
their abilities and enable them to achieve their full potential. This
begins through our Learn to Swim programme, which offers lessons for
beginners with fully qualified teachers, right through to our
competitive side of the club, with an ever increasing number of
qualified coaches who are able to offer over 20 years of coaching
expertise. At the 2007 National Championships we had two
representatives, including one silver medallist. At county and regional
championships in both the pool and open water, there have been numerous
successes and medals won.
As part of the Amateur Swimming Associations (ASA) aim to encourage
swimming as a fitness-improving pastime, we at Eastleigh and Oaklands
are able to offer masters swimmers a number of training sessions, as
well as the chance to compete in competitions specifically for masters.
In 2007 we have had representatives and success in the Hampshire County
Masters and National Masters Championships, as well as a representative
in the Hampshire inter-county team.
Outside the clubs main focus of swimming, a number of swimmers have
taken part in a Biathle (run, swim, run). This has grown in popularity
and a number of Eastleigh members have achieved success at national and
international level, including representing Great Britain in the 2007
World Biathle Championships in Monaco.
